Default Cold call, website, and personal tax questions

Hello...I'm new to the loan business but my better half is a loan officer and she has always been very good at any job she does. Since I'm not shy I want to help her with marketing. I've been getting allot of good tips from Erik Websters A-Z program and Erik even surprised me by saving me some money. I had a couple of questions and I would appreciate some advise on.

#1. I want to cold call prospects from a home office. But how do I prove that I'm legit if I ask a prospect for their social and they start to get paranoid that I'm a con man. When I think about it...I'm a stranger calling them and asking them for their social so I can understand their concerns and if I push for the social then I may seem even more like a con man. So I would appreciate all the different rebuttals and verifications loan officers use to deal with this situation.

#2. What is the best website service for a loan officer. I'd like something that offers the best value with a good blend of reliability, function and price. Or is there no need to worry about getting a loan officer website.

#3. What is the best way to set up making cold calls from a home office...as far as equipment, scripting, and other misc. items.

#4. How do loan officers reduce the tax bite from your pay check?

Thanks in advance for all helpful replies.
