Default New to the Business and have some Doubts

Hi Everyone,

I have a sort of bad situation. I started training to become a LO back in Oct 06. My plan was to do this P/T until I got the all the proper training and enough income to do it F/T. Well, as it turned out I was laid off in December and have been dedicating more time to this business. The only problem is that I'm not getting paid, I am collecting unemployment but that's not enough to feed 4 children and pay the bills. My wife doesn't make much and I've been feeling like I have to get another full time job until I start generating sales.

Can anybody give a general idea of how exactly this business works? As far as; commission, expenses, 1099 or W-2.

Is this something I can do P/T in the evenings from home. I am assuming that it will take me a while to make enough money to this Full time, am I correct?

Hello, there are different rules for different states. You might check out your states Real Estate Commission website to find out what you need to do. Once you have done that this can be as part or full time as you want it to be if you work for yourself "Independent Contractor." Also, depending on how big your loan is and what fees you charge, yield spread, etc. You can easily earn a month's salary off one or two loans. It all depends on how much income you are seeking. The biggest key is finding referrals. Hope this helps.

Building a new business as means to support the family is one big responsibility. In order to do so, you should know well the type of business would want to engage in. Know your capabilities and limitations for this will deeply affect your future decisions.

Please be more specific about your present qualifications and experience, as I don’t think it wise to try and wait for the better results any more because you have the responsibility of your family too. Today because of the internet availability at every end, earning options are unlimited. Select the one most appropriate that delivers immediate returns. For example, you may start tutoring online outsourcing behalf of a company, or may join some company outsourcing its services.
