Is there any rule against this? I love processing loans, keeping in touch with the borrower from start to finish. I think it just makes sense. I just don't hear about many LOs originating and then processing the loans too. Processing is so simple..Hmmmm. Does any LO out there do this? If I have all the processing ability and skills why not, right?

No, there's no rule against. Some people are of the opinion that it slows down the LO. However, if the LO is only originating 3-5 loans a month, then they should be able to process their own loans
Also, it's good for the LOs to know what to do. If you're 7-10 loans a month, it may start becoming a little difficult to fit all that in.

I have always believed that every good LO should know how to process. I do agree that it can limit an LO's time to originate more, but it also gives them valuable tools to help their processor once volume has increased enough to have one. In the beginning of my business, all LO's processed their own loans and new ones still do to some extent. It is a wonderful learning experience. Sometimes, it's easy to get a loan but what's more important is getting that loan to close and often, that's where processing knowledge comes in. Remember, knowledge is power. Best of luck to you!
